Aubrium vs Metricool: what's the difference, and do you need both?
Metricool plans, posts and reports across your networks. Aubrium is a library of viral Instagram reels from accounts your size. Different jobs, so you can use both.

A family travel account in Portugal has 9,278 followers. One of its reels, with the hook "Ultimate baby airline seat hack", reached over 76 million views, 8,290 times its follower count. It's one of the reels in Aubrium's library, which we read on 22 October 2026.
Metricool's competitor view starts from accounts you add, so you'd need to know this one first. Finding accounts you haven't added isn't mentioned on its site. That isn't a flaw. Metricool does a different job: it plans, schedules and publishes your posts across your networks, and reports on how they did. Aubrium is a library of Instagram posts that went viral, from 196,476 creators you've likely never come across. One helps you post. The other helps you decide what to post.
Fair warning: we make Aubrium, so this is our page. We read Metricool's site again on 22 October 2026, and every price and limit below comes from it, not from a paid account. Metricool is also in the best tools to find viral reels, where we called it a scheduler first. Here's where each one is the better pick, and why plenty of creators could use both.
Pick Metricool if you schedule and publish across your networks and want reports on your own accounts. It has a free plan; paid plans start at $25 a month, or $20 a month billed yearly, before VAT. Pick Aubrium if you post on Instagram and want viral reels from accounts your size you haven't found yet, from $49 a month. They do different jobs, so you can use both.
A searchable library of Instagram reels that reached far more people than the account has followers, from accounts with 1,000 to 100,000 followers.
Plans, schedules and publishes your posts across your networks, reports on your own accounts, and tracks competitors you add.
Can Metricool find viral reels from accounts you don't track?
Not that its site mentions. Its competitor view starts with one step: "Add the accounts you're interested in (influencers, brands, or direct competitors)."1 Then it shows their followers, their recent posts and how people reacted to them,2 and you can filter them by growth, reach and other numbers.1 We found no search across reels on its site, no outlier score and no library of other creators' posts.
That's a watchlist, and for accounts you know, it's a good one. Aubrium starts from the other end. It holds 286,620 viral posts from 196,476 creators, each with 1,000 to 100,000 followers. A reel gets in when it reached at least twice its creator's follower count and at least 10,000 views.3
Metricool's paid plans let you add up to 100 accounts on Instagram.4 That's plenty for the rivals you know, but you'd need every handle before you started. In our real estate niche alone, 4,319 creators have a viral post.
Aubrium has a watchlist too. My Rivals tracks accounts you add, up to 100, checked all month.5, 6 That's the part we share with Metricool. The library is the part we don't. Watching the accounts you know tells you what your rivals did. A library shows you what worked for thousands of accounts you've never seen.

How we did this
We read metricool.com on 22 October 2026: the home page, pricing, the competitor, Instagram and MCP pages, its terms, and its own blog post on competitor tools. We didn't use a paid Metricool account, so anything inside the app that its site doesn't describe isn't here.
Aubrium's numbers come from its own library on 22 October 2026, counting the posts members can see. Aubrium makes this page.
