Accountants are funnier on Instagram than the job's reputation suggests. Relatable lines open 16% of the 500+ viral accounting reels in Aubrium's library, and they went as far as any type. In accounting, curiosity gaps open the most viral reels, 19%, with relatable lines and bold claims at 16% each. Relatable lines and POV hooks went furthest, tied with a middle reel at 51 times its account's following. Hooks run long here, 13 words in the middle, and 82% show the hook as text.

What kind of hook works best for accounting reels?
Two kinds tie for furthest: relatable lines and POV hooks, both at 51× for the middle reel. Curiosity gaps are the most used, at 19% of accounting reels.
Bold claims and questions are nearly as common as relatable lines, at 16% and 15%, but both stopped at 13×. Number lists, 28 of them, reached 29×. And hardly any reel here goes without a hook: only 3% have none of any type.

How long should an accounting hook be?
Accounting hooks run long. A typical one has 13 words, and just 27% say it in 8 words or less.
Shorter still went further, though. Hooks of 5 to 8 words reached 24× for the middle reel, and every longer band slipped lower: 18×, then 13×, then 11× past 20 words. The tiniest hooks, 1 to 4 words, show 28×, but there are only 20 of them.
Should you say the hook or show it?
Show it. Silent text opens 54% of these reels and went furthest by far for accountants.
Silent hooks reached 39× for the middle reel. Text read aloud, 28% of reels, reached 11×, and a voice alone, 17%, reached 10×. A wide gap, given that 45% of these reels have someone talking to camera.

We counted every reel filed in Aubrium's accounting niche; a reel can sit in more than one niche.
Hook types, delivery and on-screen text are labels Aubrium's reader puts on every post. Hook length and first words count the 280+ reels with an English hook in words. Every number here describes reels that already went viral, so none of it is the odds for a new one.
