Transformation teases went furthest of the common types, 34× their followers, ahead of callouts at 31×. What kind of hook works best for gut health reels?
Bold claims are the most common, at 23% of these reels, but they aren't the ones that went furthest. Curiosity gaps follow at 19% and questions at 13%.
Look further down the chart. POV hooks reached 82 times their creator's followers, yet just 19 reels open on one, not enough to crown it. Among the bigger groups, transformation teases went furthest at 34×, ahead of callouts (31×) and relatable lines (30×). The bold claim, the niche's favourite opener, reached 16×. Nearly every reel opens on something: only 1% have no hook at all.

Around 11 words. That's the median, and the 9-to-12-word band is the biggest, at 31%, and went furthest of the bands with enough hooks to read.
Hooks in the 9-to-12-word band reached 21× their followers, while both the 5-to-8 and 13-to-20 bands stalled at 11×. The 14 shortest, 1 to 4 words, got to 30×, but they're rare. Past 20 words, 8×.
Should you say the hook or show it?
Show it, and often say it too. 53% put the hook on screen alone, and another 34% show it and speak it.
Words on screen with no voice did best on reach: a 27× middle reel. A voice alone got 15×, and text read out loud 11×. A line on screen still lands with the sound off.
