The best hooks for investing reels, from 936 that went viral

We read the opening line of every viral investing reel in Aubrium's library: which hooks show up most, which travelled furthest, and 12 real ones to learn from.

Aubrium ResearchEditorial · Updated

"Do you have any stock tips for me?" was said and shown at the start of a reel from a 6,455-follower account, and the reel reached 1.8 million views. A plain question, with no figure and no promise in it.

Investing hooks often don't hold back like that: 34% of these reels open on a bold claim. We wanted to know whether the loud ones are the ones that travel. So we sorted the opening lines of all 936 viral investing reels in Aubrium's library, from 724 creators, by type and by distance. The cross-niche hook guide has the wider picture, and what goes viral in each niche is its own page.

The short answer

Bold claims open 34% of viral investing reels, far more than any other kind, but their middle reel drew only 11× its follower count. Relatable lines and questions went about as far as each other, 20× and 18×. 82% show the hook as text, and the middle hook runs 13 words.
