Longevity creators trade in routines: steps, sleep, weights, mornings scored out of ten. More than a third of their reels, 35%, open on a bold claim like that one. We read the opening lines of the 300+ viral longevity reels in Aubrium's library. The best Instagram hooks across niches has the general view; our index of niches has every other one.
Bold claims open 35% of viral longevity reels, more than any other hook, then questions and curiosity gaps. Those three travelled about as far, 18× to 20× their followers. Warnings reached 26×, but there are only 20 of them. 86% put the hook on screen in text, and a median hook runs 14 words.

What kind of hook works best for longevity reels?
Bold claims, by a wide margin. They open 35% of these reels; questions (16%) and curiosity gaps (15%) come next.
How far they went is a closer race. Curiosity gaps had a middle reel at 20× their followers, questions 19× and bold claims 18×. Number lists reached 21×, from 23 reels. Warnings sit higher at 26×, negative hooks at 35× and POV hooks at 23×, but with 20, 4 and 2 reels those are too rare to read. Hookless openings? Only 1%.

How long should a longevity hook be?
Long, for hooks. The median is 14 words, and only 21% stay at 8 or under.
Hooks of 5 to 8 words went furthest, 20× for the middle reel, though they're only 14% of the English hooks. The biggest group, 13 to 20 words, holds 34% and reached 15×. Past 20 words, 13×; 9 to 12 words and the very short ones, 11×.
Should you say the hook or show it?
Show it. Text without a voice opens 51% of these reels; another 35% show it and say it.
Silent text reached 24× for the middle reel. Spoken-only hooks got 13×, and text read aloud 11×. With hooks this long, text lets a viewer read at their own speed.
How do viral longevity hooks start?
Three words tie at the top: "I", "I'm" and "if", 12 hooks each. Then come "the" and "this". A lot of longevity hooks start with the creator, then the routine.

We counted every reel filed in Aubrium's longevity niche; a reel can sit in more than one niche.
Hook types, delivery and on-screen text are labels Aubrium's reader puts on every post. Hook length and first words count the 200+ reels with an English hook in words. Every number here describes reels that already went viral, so none of it is the odds for a new one.
