What 900+ viral restaurant owner reels have in common: what they show, how they start, what they sound like, and who posts them. Real numbers from Aubrium's library.

Eating, grabbing your bag and strolling out without paying. A story reel about exactly that, with its creator calling it "absolutely crazy" in the caption, reached 93.9 million views from a page with 19,412 followers.
Restaurant owner reels are about the people as much as the plates: the staff, the regulars, the customer who wants a manager. What kind of restaurant owner reels go viral?
No single format owns this niche. Tutorials lead with just 18%, and skits are right behind them at 17%.
Skits are where the reach is. The middle one reached 85 times its creator's followers, against 27 for a tutorial and 10 for a talking head. The jokes in this niche write themselves: the dinner rush, the manager, the table that walks in just before closing. Montages reached 21 and stories 19.
Do you need to show your face?
Most do, at 74%, but the faceless ones went further. The 26% with no face topped out higher in the middle: 30 times followers, against 17 with a face. Someone talks to camera in 44% of these reels, so a lot of this niche is people speaking straight to the lens.
Should restaurant owner reels have text on screen?
Yes. 81% have some, mostly a line or two. Oddly, the reels with nothing written on them, 19% of the total, travelled furthest: the middle one hit 31 times followers. A line or two hit 18, and a lot of text 17.
Trending song or your own sound?
Their own sound, by a wide margin: 67%, against 25% with a song, well under the library-wide 37%. Borrowed audio is rare, 7% of reels, yet it carried furthest: 35 times followers in the middle, ahead of songs at 21 and the creator's own audio at 18.
What hooks work for restaurant owner reels?
Relatable lines lead, at 18%, and they also went furthest by a wide margin. The middle relatable reel hit 51 times followers; POV hooks, next best on the chart, hit 21. The relatable ones here are written from behind the counter, by people who've carried the hot plates and taken the complaints. Another 18% skip the hook entirely, and the middle hook runs 12 words.
