Relatable lines about salon life travelled furthest of the common kinds, 66× for the middle one, while curiosity gaps are the most used, at 15% of nail reels.
Transformation teases, at 14%, reached 46×, and POV hooks 58×, from only 28 reels. The tallest bar belongs to negative hooks, 108×, but only 11 reels use one, too few to read anything into. A full 35% skip the hook, with no hook of any type, and still got 46× in the middle.

Between 5 and 8 words: that band is far ahead, and the typical nail hook sits right in it, at 8.
Hooks of 5 to 8 words got 65× for the middle reel. Every other band stopped between 22× and 36×, the shortest at 36× and the longest at 22×. Just over half, 52%, stay at 8 words or under, like "Almond - stiletto" or "Dip with me ☁️✨".
Should you say the hook or show it?

We counted every reel filed in Aubrium's nail art niche; a reel can sit in more than one niche.
Hook types, delivery and on-screen text are labels Aubrium's reader puts on every post. Hook length and first words count the 230+ reels with an English hook in words. Every number here describes reels that already went viral, so none of it is the odds for a new one.
