How to go viral in the dental niche on Instagram

What 900+ viral dental reels have in common: what they show, how they start, what they sound like, and who posts them. Real numbers from Aubrium's library.

Aubrium ResearchEditorial · Updated

"Foods That Make Cavities Worse 🦷" is the whole hook. Under it, a faceless reel walks through sticky and sugary foods, and the caption says why they feed the trouble. It reached 53.5 million views from an account of 59,139 followers.

Dental reels come from both sides of the chair. Dentists film their patients, their front desk and their own kids' odd rules; patients film braces, wires and elastics. Aubrium's library counts 900+ viral dental reels, and the middle one of that whole set came from an account with 11,088 followers. 240+ of them broke a million views. The rules behind viral reels in any niche are in our main guide, and each niche's page, listed in one place, has the rest.

The short answer

No single format owns dental. Tutorials lead at 20%, then stories and skits. 71% of viral dental reels show a face, but the middle faceless reel reached 39× its followers, against 19× with a face. 86% put text on screen and 61% use their own sound. Accounts below 10,000 followers posted 48%.
