The best ViralFindr alternatives for finding viral reels (2026)
ViralFindr is cheap and simple, with a free plan. If you want hooks, scripts or reels from accounts your size, here are seven others to try. Ours is one of them.
A family travel account in Portugal, @zetra…, with 9,278 followers, posted a reel that opens on five words: "Ultimate baby airline seat hack." When we read Aubrium's library on 22 October 2026, it had over 76 million views.
If you want to make your own reel like that, finding it is only the start. You want those five words, a sense of why they worked, and help saying your own version. ViralFindr helps with the finding. It finds strong Instagram posts and lets you download them. But its site never mentions hooks, transcripts or scripts.
Fair warning: we make Aubrium. It's one of the seven tools below, and its gaps are listed with everyone else's. We read every tool's own site on 22 October 2026, and we've paid for two of them. What ViralFindr is good at
ViralFindr is simple, and it's cheap. In its own words, it's "a simpler way to find the best performing content on Instagram."1

The free plan costs $0. The site also calls it "a free trial with 3 searches," but never gives it an end date. It doesn't say what one of its "Analytics" is, either. On the yearly tab, Team is $159.95 and Enterprise $299.95.
Search is about as simple as it gets. Every plan lists "Search users," and from what the site says, you look up public Instagram accounts and see which posts are performing best. There's an explore feed of top posts too. You can download a post in high quality to any device, and it lists everyone tagged in the post, so you can credit the person who made it.
And you don't have to hand over your Instagram login.
“Logging in with your instagram account is optional.”
You only need it for the explore feed. If all you want is to find a strong post, save it and repost it with credit, ViralFindr already does that for very little money. You may not need anything else.
Why people look for a ViralFindr alternative
If you're looking, it's probably for one of the reasons below. Each one comes from what ViralFindr's own pages say and don't say: its home page, FAQ, privacy policy and terms.1, 2, 3

You want the words, not just the video. ViralFindr's home page names two uses: inspiration for your own posts, or downloading a post to repost it. To make your own version, you need the hook, the first line that makes people stop, and that's the part its site doesn't mention.
Where the hook lives matters too. Here's how it shows up in the viral reels in Aubrium's library.
On 52% of them, the hook is only on the screen. A transcript of what's said won't catch it, so look for a tool that reads both.
You want ideas from accounts your size. A big account can get views on almost anything, so its hits tell you less. ViralFindr's site doesn't mention a follower filter or a country filter.
You want to look past the accounts you know. From what its site says, search starts from a public account, so it works best when you already know whose posts to study. There's also an explore feed of top posts, but it needs your Instagram login.
You want clear refund terms. We couldn't find a refund policy anywhere on its site. What it does say is that you can cancel at any time and won't be billed for the months after.1
None of this is a knock on ViralFindr. It's built to find and save posts, and it does that cheaply.

Check the middle column first. Most of these tools hunt for outliers: reels that did far better than the account usually does. Where they differ is whose reels they look at. A watchlist shows you the accounts you add. A feed shows accounts the tool picked for you. A library is a big pile of accounts you've never heard of, with filters. ViralFindr's search sits closest to a watchlist, since you start from an account.

Aubrium is ours, so read this card with that in mind. It's a library of Instagram posts that reached far more people than the account has followers. A reel gets in when its views reach at least twice the account's followers and at least 10,000.6 Every account in it has 1,000 to 100,000 followers, so the idea did the work, not the size of the audience. On 22 October 2026 it held 286,620 posts in 360 niches.
Pick a niche, then filter by country, format, hook type, account size, on camera or not, and AI-made or not. Each post shows its hook, spoken or on screen, how it was made, the caption and the audio. If you save posts in ViralFindr, Collections do that job here, with a CSV export.

ViralSpot is one plan with everything in it, for $25 a month, and no credits to run out of. It works like a chat for Instagram research. It shows a feed of outliers, each scored against its own account's normal, and tracks up to 20 competitors and 5 of your own pages.7
It writes hooks, three angles for each idea, and scripts in your voice for a reel, a carousel or a single post. It can also rebuild a carousel you like in your own colors and fonts. Its site says it filters by account size.7 We paid for it in September, and on 19 September 2026 its app had a follower slider from 1K to 50M, but no country filter, and the default feed was global.

Octupie is for people who'd rather not do the research. When you sign up, it learns your niche, finds the top accounts in it, watches them for you and flags the reels that break out.8 You can still follow specific accounts: 15 on Creator, 30 on Pro.
Open a reel and you get the hook word for word, what's on screen and the structure. Pick a hook and it writes a ready-to-film script in your style in about 30 seconds. The trade-off is that you see the accounts it picked (plus any you add) rather than a library you can search, and breakdowns stop at 50 or 100 a month.

It turns posts into ready-to-shoot scripts: 30, 90 or 1,200 content ideas a month, by plan. Its real strength is for builders. It has a REST API and an MCP connector, so an AI agent can search outliers and pull transcripts for you.

Every video is transcribed and its hook gets a type: a question, a stat, a story. A chat then turns any video you pick into a script in your voice.14 Each plan comes with tokens for the AI work, 10,000 a month or 2,500 a week.
Its transcript tool keeps spoken words and on-screen text apart, which matters when so many hooks are on screen. If you liked downloading in ViralFindr, that tool also gives you MP4 and MP3 links, one reel a day, with no account.15

Sandcastles is built for short videos on YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram. You build a watchlist of channels, and it finds each one's outliers, with transcripts, hooks and scripts.17 From Pro up, a global search also looks through captions and titles across everything in Sandcastles.19
Credits pay for analyzing videos, writing scripts and running reports, and unused ones expire at the end of the month. At sign-up, new accounts are offered a $5-a-month Starter plan, once. The full plans start at $49.18

Metricool is here for one reason. If what you really liked about ViralFindr was the free plan, Metricool has one too, free for good, and it schedules your posts: reels, stories and carousels.22 It also reports on how you're doing and shows competitors you add, 5 on the free plan and up to 100 on paid ones.21
It isn't a discovery tool. Its site doesn't mention finding reels from accounts you haven't added. It has an AI assistant, but nothing on its site says it writes reel scripts or reads hooks.

Questions people ask
Is ViralFindr free?
It has a free plan: 3 searches, 3 analytics and 10 downloads, at $0. Its paid plans are $14.95 and $29.95 on the monthly tab. The page doesn't say whether the limits reset each month.
Does ViralFindr search by keyword or hashtag?
Its site describes searching public accounts ("Search users") and an explore feed of top posts, which needs an Instagram login. We found no mention of keyword search. Hashtags come up only in its privacy policy, as a "Follow Hashtag" feature that saves a hashtag's top posts to your Google Photos.2
Do I need to log in with Instagram to use ViralFindr?
No. ViralFindr says the login is optional and only needed for the explore feed. You sign up for the account itself with Google.24 Aubrium never asks for your Instagram password either.
Which ViralFindr alternative shows hooks and transcripts?
CreatorHouse transcribes every video and labels the hook type, and its transcript tool keeps spoken and on-screen text apart. Sandcastles has transcripts and hooks for each video it analyzes. Octupie shows the hook word for word. Aubrium shows each post's hook, and in its library on 22 October 2026, 99% of reels with a spoken hook had a transcript.
Is there a free alternative to ViralFindr?
None of the reel finders here lists a free plan on its site. Metricool has a free plan with no end date, but it's a scheduler and doesn't mention finding reels from accounts you haven't added. Octupie (7 days, no card), Viral Outliers (7 days, card asked) and CreatorHouse (3 days) have free trials. Aubrium has neither, but it refunds a first subscription in full within 15 days.
Does ViralFindr offer refunds?
We couldn't find a refund policy on any of its pages. It says you can cancel at any time and won't be billed for the months after.
Which alternative shows reels from accounts my size?
Aubrium: every account in its library has 1,000 to 100,000 followers. ViralSpot's site says it filters by account size,7 and its app had a follower slider when we used it on 19 September 2026. Sandcastles filters channels by account size when you search for them, and Viral Outliers says its search filters by follower count.13
How we checked
We read each tool's own website on 22 October 2026: the home page, pricing, the FAQ, and the terms or refund pages where there were any. For ViralFindr that meant its home page, where its pricing and FAQ live, plus its privacy policy, its terms and its sign-up page. We didn't sign up for ViralFindr, so nothing here comes from inside its app.
We've paid for and used Sandcastles and ViralSpot. Anything we saw inside those apps carries the date we saw it, 19 September 2026. Then we asked every tool the same five questions:
- Does it show you the hook and the words? The first line is often the whole reason a reel worked.
- Can you stick to accounts your size? A huge account going viral tells you very little.
- Can you filter by country? What works in Ohio doesn't always work in Lagos.
- Does it help you make your own version? A script, a carousel, or at least the structure.
- What does it cost, and can you get your money back? The entry price, the trial, and the refund terms.
