How long should an AI automation hook be?
AI hooks run long, 12 words at the middle, but the short ones travelled further. Only 30% run 8 words or fewer.
In AI, the 1–4 word hooks reached 35 times their creator's followers, while the 5–8 and 9–12 word ones reached 28 and 29. The 13–20 word band reached only 13. The longest, past 20 words, came back to 21.
Should you say the hook or show it?
Show it. Saying and showing at once is the most common, at 35%, but text alone travelled furthest. 34% of these reels use text alone, and 26% only say it.
The middle reel with text alone reached 26 times followers. Saying it while it's on screen reached 17, and saying it alone 18. 56% of these reels have someone talking to camera, so a spoken hook is easy. The typed one is what travelled.
