Viral hybrid training reels open most often with a curiosity gap, 17% of them, then a relatable line or a bold claim. POV hooks went furthest, 36 times the account's followers, ahead of relatable lines at 29. 88% put the hook in text, and the middle one runs 8 words.

What kind of hook works best for hybrid training reels?
Curiosity gaps lead, at 17%, with relatable lines at 14% and bold claims at 13%.
Bold claims are common but went the shortest distance of those three, 10 times followers. Relatable lines went 29, and POV hooks, on just 5% of reels, went furthest at 36. The race is hard and a bit absurd, and the hooks that admit it travelled best. Callouts and number lists sat at 11, and the 9% with no hook reached 17.

How long should a hybrid training hook be?
There's no tidy rule. Most hooks are short, 8 words in the middle, but the 13–20 word band travelled furthest, at 28 times followers.
The short ones did about as well as each other: 18 times for 1–4 words, 17 for 5–8. A full sentence that sets up a problem, like the zone two hook above, can carry further than a label. Past 20 words, the middle reel slipped back to 16.
Should you say the hook or show it?
Written down. 88% of these reels show the hook as text, and the text-only ones went furthest.
The middle text-only reel reached 19 times its followers. Spoken only: 15. Both at once: 12. A written line also survives a muted phone.

We counted every reel filed in Aubrium's hybrid training niche; a reel can sit in more than one niche.
Hook types, delivery and on-screen text are labels Aubrium's reader puts on every post. Hook length and first words count the 369 reels with an English hook in words. Every number here describes reels that already went viral, so none of it is the odds for a new one.
