The best hooks for baby feeding reels, from 837 that went viral
We read the opening line of every viral baby feeding reel in Aubrium's library: which hooks show up most, which travelled furthest, and 16 real ones to learn from.

Some hooks don't need a twist. "POV: You nursed your first baby for the last time" came from an account with 1,657 followers, and the reel reached 8.1 million views.
Feeding is one of the most practical corners of baby content. We read all 837 viral baby feeding reels in Aubrium's library, from 697 creators, and sorted the hooks that open them. One note first: this page is about hooks, not feeding advice, so we left out any hook that makes a health or feeding claim. For hooks across every niche, see the best hooks for Instagram reels. For the rest of the library, see our overview of every niche.
On viral baby feeding reels, curiosity gaps open 24% of reels, relatable lines 18% and questions 13%. POV hooks and number lists went about as far as each other, 39× and 37× their creator's followers for the middle one, but both are rare. 87% show the hook as text, and shorter hooks went further.

What kind of hook works best for baby feeding reels?
POV hooks and number lists travelled about as far as each other, 39× and 37×, while curiosity gaps are simply the most common, opening 204 of the 837 reels.
Plenty of the curiosity gaps we read tease a tip or a fact. The POV hooks do something else: they put you inside a moment, like the last feed, or a toddler working his charm to get fed. There are only 45 of them, and 27 number lists, but those two groups' middle reels reached 39× and 37×, against 18× for a curiosity gap. Bold claims and warnings sat at 32×, relatable lines at 25×. Only 9% of viral baby feeding reels have no real hook.

How long should a baby feeding hook be?
Keep it short. 8 words or fewer went further, though only 35% of feeding hooks are that brief.
The 16 shortest, at 1–4 words, drew 46× followers for the middle reel, and 5–8 words drew 28×. Past 12 words the drop is steep: 10× for 13–20 words, 12× for anything longer. "Did you spot it?" sits at the short end.
Should you say the hook or show it?
Show it. 65% of viral baby feeding reels have the hook as text alone, and 96% carry some text somewhere.
Text-only hooks reached 28 times their creator's followers for the middle reel. Spoken ones reached 16, and text plus voice 13. A line on screen is the usual choice here, and it travelled furthest.
How do viral baby feeding hooks start?
Feeding hooks start with "I" slightly more often than "POV", 22 to 21. "What" and "my" follow at 15 and 14, and "welcome" even makes the list, with 6.
