How long should a short-term rental hook be?
Not too short, and not too long. The best band was 5 to 8 words, at 21 times followers for the middle reel; the shortest and the longest both sat near the bottom, at 11 and 12.
In between, 9 to 12 words reached 17 and 13 to 20 words reached 13. The middle hook is 12 words, and 31% use 8 or fewer. Only 20 hooks have 1 to 4 words, so that band is a thin one.
Should you say the hook or show it?
Show it. The hook appears as text on 88% of these reels.
Text alone travelled furthest, 25 times followers for the middle reel. Reels that paired the text with a spoken hook reached 12, and a hook that was only spoken reached 11. Pairing is common here, at 35% of reels, so this is a real choice for hosts who like to talk to camera.
