What kind of hook works best for wedding reels?
Curiosity gaps show up most, on 21% of them. But the hook that travelled furthest, by a long way, is the transformation tease.
The middle transformation tease reached 94 times its creator's followers. POV hooks came next, at 60, and aspirational lines at 48. Curiosity gaps and relatable lines, the two biggest groups, reached 39 and 37. The teases we read point at a moment still to come, like "the wedding dress I almost said yes to". And 13% of these reels have no hook of any type, with their middle one at 33 times.

How long should a wedding hook be?
As few words as you can manage. The middle reel with a hook of 1 to 4 words reached 87 times its creator's followers.
Then comes a cliff. Hooks of 5 to 8 words still reached 50, but at 9 to 12 words the middle reel reached only 23, and past 20 words it was 13. The middle hook is 10 words, right on the far side of that drop, and only 37% use 8 or fewer.
Should you say the hook or show it?
Show it. 67% write the hook on screen and leave the voice out.
Those went furthest, 48 times followers for the middle reel. Reels that paired the text with a spoken hook reached 18, and a hook that was only spoken reached 13. A written line reads the same with the sound off.
