Here are the first lines of all 544 viral veterinary reels in Aubrium's library, from 388 creators, sorted by type and by how far each went. On viral veterinary reels, the leaders are curiosity gaps (23%) and relatable lines (21%). POV hooks are rarer, at 8%, yet a typical one drew 52× its follower count, the furthest of any common type. 77% show the hook as text; the middle hook is 9 words.

What kind of hook works best for veterinary reels?
Curiosity gaps and relatable lines, almost level at 23% and 21% of these reels. Of the two, relatable lines went much further.
A relatable line's middle reel got 34 times followers; a curiosity gap's got 20. POV hooks went furthest of all, at 52 times across 41 reels, the "POV: You're a vet" kind of scene. Questions came last among the common types, at 14. And 11% have no hook of any type, yet their middle reel reached 73 times.

Anything up to 20 words reached between 21× and 27×; only the longest hooks fell behind, at 10×. The middle vet hook is 9 words.
At 1–4 words the middle reel drew 27× followers, at 13–20 words 26×, with 5–8 and 9–12 between at 21× and 22×. 43% of these hooks are 8 words or fewer.
Should you say the hook or show it?

We looked at every veterinary reel in Aubrium's library on 22 October 2026: 544 reels from 388 creators with 1,000 to 100,000 followers, each of which reached at least twice its creator's follower count and at least 10,000 views. We counted every reel filed in Aubrium's veterinary niche; a reel can sit in more than one niche.
Hook types, delivery and on-screen text are labels Aubrium's reader puts on every post. Hook length and first words count the 304 reels with an English hook in words. Every number here describes reels that already went viral, so none of it is the odds for a new one.
