How to go viral in the singing niche on Instagram
What 1,000+ viral singing reels have in common: what they show, how they start, what they sound like, and who posts them. Real numbers from Aubrium's library.

The line on screen starts "ONLY IN LA 😂😂😂" and lands on the twist: "no way bro actually sang to Justin and Hailey Bieber 🤯". It's a skit, and the caption calls it a re-share. From an account with 23,275 followers, it reached 17.5 million views.
Not every singing reel has a celebrity in it. What nearly all of them have is a face: 94% show one. Aubrium's library holds 1,000+ viral singing reels. The middle reel's account had 13,855 followers, and 120+ reels cleared a million views. Below, we take them apart: format, face, text, sound, hooks and account size. The wider picture is in our guide to the reels that go viral, and the niche-by-niche overview covers the rest.
Viral singing reels put a face and a voice up front: 94% show a face and 90% use their own sound. Tutorials lead, at 38%, though stories went further. 90% carry text on screen, 53% are filmed plainly on a phone, and 42% were posted by accounts under 10,000 followers.
