What kind of hook works best for DJ reels?
None by a clear margin. Callouts and POV hooks reached 15 times their creator's followers for the middle reel, and negative hooks 13. All three are small groups: callouts are on 6% of viral DJ reels, POV hooks 4% and negative hooks 2%.

Hooks of 4 words or fewer reached 13 times their creator's followers, 5 to 8 words reached 12, and 13 to 20 words reached 9. It's a gentle slope rather than a cliff, but it runs mostly one way. "WATCH THIS DJ TRICK" is four words and needs nothing else.
Should you say the hook or show it?
Do whichever suits you. Text alone, on 52% of viral DJ reels, and a voice alone, on 14%, both reached 12 times their creator's followers for the middle reel.

We counted every reel filed in Aubrium's DJ niche; a reel can sit in more than one niche.
Hook types, delivery and on-screen text are labels Aubrium's reader puts on every post. Hook length and first words count the 428 reels with an English hook in words. Every number here describes reels that already went viral, so none of it is the odds for a new one.
