How long should a song cover hook be?
Longer than you'd guess. The middle hook is 8 words, but hooks of 13 words and up went further than shorter ones.
Past 12 words, the middle reel reached 19 to 20 times its creator's followers; at 12 words or fewer it was 15 to 16. Long hooks are a small group, 7% past 20 words, but a long line has room to set up a dare: "Okay, I'm going to see how much of misery I can do in one breath" needs the whole sentence before the first note means anything.
Should you say the hook or show it?
Either works. Text alone opens 55% of these reels and a voice alone 8%, and both reached 17 times their creator's followers for the middle one.
Doing both at once, on 8%, sat lower at 12 times. Pick one and let the singing do the rest.
