SKYDIVE IN THAILAND 🇹🇭
How long should a tour guide hook be?
Very short. The hooks that went furthest had 4 words or fewer.

A 5 to 8 word hook reached 17, a 9 to 12 word one 22, and anything over 20 words just 14. The middle hook is 9 words, and 45% stay at 8 or fewer. Think "SKYDIVE IN THAILAND 🇹🇭", not a paragraph.
Should you say the hook or show it?
Either, going by these numbers. The weak spot was doing both at once.
Hooks shown only as text open 47% of viral tour guide reels, and their middle reel landed at 28 times its creator's followers. Hooks spoken with no text are rarer, at 14% of reels, and landed at 29, about as far. When the same line was both said and shown, the middle reel managed 11. If you guide for a living, your own voice can carry the opening.
